Windows 7 vs Windows 8By Noah B.
I am comparing and contrasting the Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems. They are both fairly new styles, and both great for everyday life. But which one is better? I am going to answer that question today.
One way newer operating systems are better than old ones, is the interface. The interface is how you use and control the operating system. Newer interfaces tend to be more complicated than older ones. Windows 7 has an interface much like the previous systems, with a task bar, a desktop, and a pop-up Start menu, in which you can quickly access all your applications. On the other hand, Windows 8 systems have an interface more like a Ipad or similar device, with a Start menu that fills the whole screen, but the rest of the interface is much like Windows 7.Most of the people who have bought Windows 8 like the original Start menu better than Windows 8 Start menus, according to Michael Brisset, computer expert.
The part of the operating systems we notice the most is the price. Windows 8 is newer, and more expensive. Windows 7 is older, and a little cheaper. According to Amazon.com, Windows 8 is 11% more expensive. Windows 7 would be the choice in terms of pricing.
At the end of the day, I like Windows 7 better. It has a more familiar interface. Windows 8 has a more sophisticated on-system store, according to Amazon.com,but I still prefer Windows 7. But watch the stores, a Windows 9 operating system might come out soon, and who knows what new goodies that might bring!
