Today was like any other day. McFarlends were out going about their bussiness. One of the McFarlends was home. She didn't like to go out like the others, she'd much rather stay at home and admire the beauty around her. One thing seemed odd to her parents though. She would always look at the lights and talk to them. Recently though, it had begun to become a very regular thing with her. Her parents decided it was just a faze and she'd grow out of it.
“Ohhh Mr.Lightttttt!!” Lily screamed when she knew her parents were at work.”Come play” She quickly ran to the light switch and flipped it into the on position. The light flickered, like some sort of morse code. The little girl giggled like she understood. When the girl would address a different light it would flicker. This happend several times. When she was smiled it seemed that the lights would shine brighter, just for her. As time passed the and her families life became busier, she was by her self a lot more. Well at least she didn't feel alone, she had the lights. She would have the longest conversations with these electronic lights.
Her parents began to fear she had become mad. That is until they had a fateful encounter. This happened on a very stormy night. The power had gone out and there was no flashlight in sight. Well actually they couldn't see anything so if, by chance, there was a flashlight they couldn't have seen it anyway. Lily thought that maybe her friends would come on if she asked nicely. “Mr. Light.” The little asked as she composed herself. “Please come on.” She said as sweetly as possible. The Light was alive and he knew what he had to do. He felt a surge of happiness inside him. At that moment he shin3d the brightest he ever had. The girls parents then knew that the lights were alive. It s them! And just think how much thir electric bill would go down if they could just ask the lights to turn on without power. Maybe the little girl wasn't so mad after all.
